For this culminating concert of the Django A Gogo Festival: Virtual Edition, presented on Saturday, December 19th at the Academy of Music in Northampton, MA, Stephane Wremble’s full eight-piece ensemble performed the traditional Django Reinhardt repertoire – with a twist.  Each musician pushed his or her personal boundaries to evoke new interpretations of Reinhardt’s music and explore songs by other jazz and gypsy jazz composers.

This super-group, consisting of Stephane Wrembel, Thor Jensen (guitar), Ari Folman-Cohen (bass), Nick Anderson (drums), Nick Driscoll (saxophone and clarinet), Daisy Castro (violin) was joined by special guests David Langlois (washboard) and Josh Kaye (oud and guitar).
