This October, life gets a little more colorful: Superstar middle-grade author Alex Gino returns to the world they created in their beloved, identity-affirming books MELISSA and RICK, now with GREEN. Alex’s newest novel for readers ages 8-12 (and up!) tells the story of a non-binary middle-schooler named Green who comes into their own in no small part by fighting for gender-free casting in their school’s production of THE WIZARD OF OZ.

Alex themself will take the stage at BOMBYX to read, answer audience questions, and sign books. Yes, readers can bring their own treasured copies of GEORGE/ MELISSA, RICK, YOU DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING, JILLY P!, and ALICE AUSTEN LIVED HERE. High Five Books will also have copies for sale.
