The NEPM Asparagus Festival is a free event for all to enjoy with a suggested donation of $20 per family, or $5 per person to support public media in western Mass. We encourage you to pre-register to skip the line at the gate! You might even win a prize!
Festival goers can also pre-register for the event by purchasing NEPM’s New Member “Asparagus Fest Pass.” You’ll get access to PBS Passport, an NEPM tote bag, NEPM Kids’ Day t-shirts, stickers, and a bottle of water to keep you hydrated for the duration — all for only $60.
Known as “the asparagus capital of the world,” western Massachusetts is home to hundreds of working farms and many more locally-owned restaurants and breweries. Now in its ninth year, NEPM’s Asparagus Festival returns on Saturday, June 3rd from 10AM to 7PM. The family-friendly festival spans the full length of Hadley’s Town Common and offers a full day of fantastic food and family friendly fun. Enjoy live music curated by Northampton’s own Signature Sounds including New England bluegrass quintet Poor Monroe, roots rockers the Wolff Sisters, and the soulful funk party machine Soul Magnets. Kid-friendly performers include Mister G and Marcos Carreras. PBS Kids characters including Curious George, and Molly from “Molly of Denali” will be there too. Ten local breweries will pour beer, wine and cider in the Beers & Spears tent and fifteen of our favorite local food trucks will serve up everything from fried asparagus to ice cream.
The Hadley Town Common is right on the Manhan Rail Trail so ride your bikes to the festival and take advantage of MassBike’s free bicycle valet service.
