EARTH DAY

A WEEK-LONG celebration for students and families

SF Children & Nature and SF Recreation & Park invite you to celebrate Earth Day with music, fun and learning.

Hosted by MISTER G (the Latin GRAMMY Award Winning musician, author, activist, and educator) this week-long series of FREE events combine music, learning, and guest appearances by educators and families from around the country.

With environmental justice restored as a national priority, Earth Day promises to be especially meaningful this year, ushering in a new chapter of hope and engagement at all levels, from community initiatives to public policy.
MISTER G’s Earth Day lineup includes three bilingual workshops designed to stimulate the curiosity of young people while promoting ecoliteracy and inspiring nature play. The program culminates with an interactive Earth Day Concert, broadcast live from the historic Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, MA. The show will feature live music and special guests including policy makers, eco-activists, musicians and children.

MISTER G will share the story of his journey to visit the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve in the mountains of Michoacán, and perform the song that inspired his bilingual picture book. Participants will learn about butterfly habitat and how to help protect the monarch's fragile ecosystems.
